Threshold Seasons -Your Calling, Who You Are Today in Christ

“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he simultaneously appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born” (1 Corinthians 15:3-8).
The Resurrection of Jesus is a world-shifting moment in human history. Over five hundred people encountered the risen Christ, as Paul mentions in 1 Corinthians 15:6. Yet, in Acts 1:15 we are told 120 continued to meet for the next 10 days in the upper room where the Holy Spirit came upon them.
Is there more going on in the upper room for almost two weeks among the 120 after the ascension of Jesus than what the 380 who had experienced the resurrection life of Jesus missed? What were they missing? Was it more than just receiving a ticket to Heaven, and staying out of eternal hell?
To understand the significance of this moment, let's revisit the context. Jesus’ resurrection was not merely a demonstration of Divine power but a declaration of His victory over sin and death. He appeared to His disciples, providing undeniable evidence of His identity as the Son of God. Before ascending to Heaven, He instructed them to wait for the Holy Spirit—the Comforter and Power who would equip them for their mission ahead (Acts 1:4-5). What was this mission assignment Jesus imparted on the 120 in the upper room?
Unfortunately, we have interpreted these Scriptures of the resurrection and the beginning of the church age with the concept that this is about knowing Jesus as your savior to get a ticket to Heaven when you die. If you don't know Jesus, then you will be eternally in a pit of hell. There is no evidence that those who did not go to the upper room are in eternal hell today.
1 Peter 1:3 says, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy, He has caused us to be born again into a living hope because Jesus Christ rose from the dead” (NCV). God caused you and me to be born again because of Jesus Christ coming back alive from death. It is not something we did. We can’t create our birth. At the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of God’s plan was complete in all humanity…to be born again (John 3:16). Born again from what?
Think about your ability to choose your biological parents. Is that even possible? Did you choose your mom and dad, your culture, your gender, or the time and date when you biologically entered this world? No!
God chose my mom and dad for me to be born on earth suited to this world. The same thing occurred when He caused me to be born again by the Holy Spirit coming upon my spirit because of the finished work of the cross and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. I didn't do it, and neither did you. To consider the idea of being “born again” as a decision I need to make to correct a wrong is taking what God created in the beginning in me and trying to make myself better by believing in Jesus.
“Being born again” in the conversation Nicodemus is having with Jesus in John chapter three is not about heaven or hell. It is about remembering that I was first created as a spirit being from my Heavenly Father BEFORE I was conceived in my biological mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:3). In the fullness of God’s time, He sends the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ to introduce God as my Father. The only information about identity before the Holy Spirit came into our presence is biological knowledge. We don’t know our spiritual identity which came first before we were born in the flesh (Psalm 139).
“Jesus said to Mary Magdelene, ‘Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God’” (John 20:17).
1 Peter 1:23, “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” We were born again from imperishable. We were not born again from the flesh but from the spirit.
Peter’s words align with the conversation Jesus had with Nicodemus in John 3 where Jesus said “You must be born again. Marvel, not Nicodemus of what I'm talking about." Nicodemus couldn't have understood what Jesus was talking about because He hadn't gone to the cross yet. We've made it a cross-issue, but Jesus was having a conversation that had nothing to do with Nicodemus being able to understand.
The cross was more than paying a penalty for the sins of humanity, but also brought to humanity our identity in Christ as spirit beings of the Divine Kind created in our Heavenly Father’s image in the beginning (Genesis 1:27).
Being born again raises the question: “When were we born the first time? Peter tells us, "You were a spirit being with God in the beginning, before the foundations of the world." Wow. Did anybody tell you that? Did your Christian upbringing tell you that? So, when Jesus is telling Nicodemus, “You must be born again,” He is presenting the situation with the fulfillment of the cross and resurrection.
Jesus is saying, "Don't you remember who you were? Don't you remember who you were with me in Genesis 2?"
Only the Holy Spirit can grant us that sense of remembrance. A good place to begin with is your name. Why focus on your name? Well, ask yourself why you were given that name. Does that name have roots in a specific country, even though you may have been born in a different one? For example, I was born in Tennessee, but my name has origin in the UK. Why is that?
Today, there are many young people having children with brand-new names. My generation is looking and saying, "Where did that name come from?" It's not a family name, it's not a name that we can recognize. It's not in the book of baby names. Where did that name come from?
Because it's a new generation, It's a new beginning. Just like my name originated a long time ago, there was a beginning for my name that broke through the United Kingdom carrying land rights of English culture to Tennessee when I received my name.
Land rights are part of our identity connected to our kingship and our lordship. A king without land is just a title; it holds no meaning of authority. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings, He's the Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16). The earth belongs to the Lord and everything in it (Psalm 24:1). The earth is filled with the glory of God as the water covers the seas (Habakkuk 2:14).
When theologians teach from 2 Peter 3:10, which says, “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare,” they often miss something important. This wasn't the message the disciples, Paul, or Jesus conveyed. The event of the cross and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the finished work of all humanity being reconciled back to their original identity in Him. The Holy Spirit in each of us serves as consuming fire, transforming the elements of our flesh, soul, and spirit into a higher frequency of LIGHT, unveiling our Divine power and authority displayed through Jesus during His time on the earth. That same power has always existed within us; we didn’t recognize it until the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave. That's the true Gospel we should share with others; the message of who they are in Christ.
I had mentioned a Covenant of Death before, found in Isaiah 28:14 Let me share some Scriptures to further explore this concept. Many of the teachings I’ve given over the past three years are grounded in these verses, and I encourage you to look them up for yourself.
In Ephesians 6:12, Paul addresses spiritual warfare, emphasizing that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Our struggles aren’t with family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors. While we may feel anger or frustration toward others, the real battle is spiritual. When we step back and discern the unseen realm holding the stronghold over a situation, we realize the importance of addressing the spiritual root. Instead of attacking creation, we learn to love creation while rejecting and rebuking the familiar spirit behind the issue.
Demons can be bound, but fallen cherubim operate with certain rights. Binding them doesn’t remove their influence; instead, it holds them in place. The key is to rebuke them, remove their power, and make a public display of their defeat: “I rebuke you in Jesus’ name.” This authority is ours in Christ, but we must first recognize and discern these forces to set creation free rather than hinder it.
When I speak of creation, I’m referring to humanity. Our mission is to set humanity free. As the Oracles of the Bride of Christ, we are called to speak with the authority He has given us, awakening others spiritually. This allows the Holy Spirit to minister to them through us, as we are vessels of Christ. By embracing this role, we partner with the Holy Spirit to bring freedom and transformation to those around us.
Our job is to exercise the authority of Jesus Christ as the finished work on this earth.
Jesus, spoiled, triumphed, stripped naked the authority of the enemy, and paraded publicly the total defeat of the devil Satan when He rose from the grave. See, we can do the same thing. Jesus stripped the enemy of all and chained him before us to spit on him. When we know we are the resurrected Christ one today, the presence of Christ in us will accomplish that same authority. We don’t need to beat drums or do a pow-wow dance for this authority to be released in us. However, we must have total peace in the oneness of Christ (Ephesians 4:4).
Our DNA is found in the water particles of our spit. Did you know that? Spitting was like, ugh, you never do that. You can spit on the enemy. And when you spit on the enemy, you are releasing the DNA of the Word, coming into agreement with Christ over darkness, and the serpent on the ground. Metaphorically, that is where that python–familiar spirit belongs. He doesn't belong in your Tree of Life, or anyone else. Stomp the head of that serpent trying to strangle you, hold you hostage, constrict you, or bully you. Just don't attack the person.
“Jesus spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.” (Mark 8:32-34).
Peter has set himself up by rebuking Jesus because he doesn’t understand how the Kingdom of God operates. Jesus in turn rebukes the familiar spirit hanging around Peter that wants to ask the questions the thieves that hung next to Jesus asked, "Who do you think you are?”
Can you say who you are according to what God says? I am a beloved child of God, daughter of the highest, married to the Lamb of God, with His name, nature, and identity. I am in a covenant marriage that has been consummated, and today I am impregnated with the Word. When I speak, the Word has life and love, and the light of Christ's DNA is released into the earth. Darkness must flee. That's the power of the Holy Spirit within us.
Trials and tribulations will come, but thankfulness and victory have already come. The victory's already been won. "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him." 1 John 4:4.
Know your enemy. Rebellion, and jealousy, are like little demons. Bind those demons and speak about life. What would the opposite of that be? When dealing with a python spirit, you're dealing with a spirit of constricting love. Even though we say, “I love you,” if there's a “but” behind those words, you need to change the thought to, “I know there is…, but I love you.” God's love has “I love you unconditionally.” I love you with my life. God didn't limit His love for us (Romans 8:38).
If you're dealing with a spirit of forgetfulness—feeling like you just can’t remember things or stay organized—you might be encountering a spirit referred to as Zyzz. This fallen angel spirit brings limitations to your joy. It overwhelms you, making it hard to move forward, stealing your laughter and peace. To combat this, count it all joy. Start singing unto the Lord, and you’ll find your enemy scattering.
When you’re dealing with a spirit of retaliation, feelings of vengeance, justification, or an intense desire to set things right—you might be facing a Leviathan spirit. Think of it like an alligator that grabs hold of you, dragging you into the waters of confusion. The alligator roll represents the back-and-forth state of trying to justify yourself, pulling you deeper into the chaos. This spirit seeks to replace the peace that surpasses all understanding with logic and reasoning. Step back and let go, reclaiming God’s peace over the situation.
Suppose you feel unaccomplished, lethargic, or stuck in negativity—as if you’re wasting time—you might be dealing with another cherubim spirit called Kronos. This spirit steals your patience. True patience comes from the Lord, trusting in His perfect timing and His unveiling of works. Sitting idle, however, leads to a downward spiral of oppression, depression, and negativity. When doom and gloom are present, recognize that you are in a spiritual battle, and your patience is being stolen.
These are just a few examples of spiritual warfare. There are many excellent resources available from authors and teachings online that delve deeper into these topics. The key is to seek God’s direction and ask, “What does God have for me today?” Avoid falling into repetitive patterns that yield the same results. God’s ways are new every morning. His Word brings light, life, and love.
Learn to count each moment as joy, embrace His love and peace, and allow the patience of the Holy Spirit in you to have her perfect work.
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:3-4).
